The DDR Museum Berlin - a Hands-on Experience of History
The DDR Museum offers a hands-on experience of everyday life in the GDR. Exhibits are there to be handled - few are kept in showcases.
Many stations invite you to learn about topics in a playful way. Visitors are encouraged to open drawers and closets, and rummage through them.
Take a seat in an original Trabi and experience a wild ride through a concrete-slab housing estate. Rummage through a typical GDR apartment.
Flick from one channel to the next and choose between East and West German programs and do not forget to pick up the phone! But beware of the wiretapping.
